We all know couples that have entered into marriage for all the right reasons only for it not to work out.
Divorce can often be the only way to settle those differences and allow both parties to move on. Our UK divorce guide is designed to give you all the main information on divorce you need to start making it a less frightening option...
The dictionary describes divorce as ???the dissolution of marriage or the ending of a marriage before the death of either spouse.' What a description like that doesn't take into account is the huge amounts of fear, stress and emotion involved (as well as the potential expense).
Deciding whether to divorce or not can be extremely tough on both parties as well as children family and even friends but for thousands of couples every year it becomes the only option.
And you're not alone. In 2006, the last year that figures are available, there were 12.2 divorcing people per 1,000 married population. The ???good' news is that rates are falling, especially for men and women under 40: by 10 per cent and 9 per cent respectively compared with the previous year.
And in 2006 69 per cent of divorces were handed to the wife, so any men out here had better watch out!
On a more serious note we realize here at divorceanswers that divorce can be a terrifying prospect and that's why we've set this site up: to arm you with unbiased, independent advice and information to help make the process as clear and simple as possible.
